Seagrave Wolds Challenge

10th November 2018

Welcome to the Seagrave Wolds Challenge website

2017 was another great year for the Challenge. We raised over £10,000 which went to Seagrave Memorial Hall Redecoration Fund; The Richardson Foundation; The Seagrave Christmas Lights Fund; Seagrave Village Primary School; and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

As usual, all the proceeds from this year’s event will go to support a mixture of local and national charities.

2018 will be our 14th consecutive Challenge. As last year’s route was so popular, this year’s route is likely to be quite similar. It will be just short of 16 miles and should take in the villages of Wymeswold, Rempston, Prestwold, Burton-on-the-Wolds, and Walton-on-the-Wolds. We should get some nice views of the lovely Wolds countryside and, with support from local landowners, get some rare access across private land.

Despite the 2017 event selling out we’ve managed to hold the entry price at the same level for a third year. To avoid disappointment, you are advised to head to the “How To Enter” page and register early!

Some statistics for 2018

  • The event was fully subscribed with 700 registered Challengers
  • There were 573 runners and 127 walkers.
  • We had 465 runners and 94 walkers at the start line.
  • Happily, there were no significant first aid interventions

The organisers would like to apologise to those challengers who diverged from the planned route around Kings Brooks. We pride ourselves on providing excellent route marking. In this case, we suspect some of the signs had been tampered with.
